Supervision of Doctoral students

LINI faculty will be available to help supervision of doctoral students admitted to UIL-ISCTE or other Portuguese and non-Portuguese University departments (under a case-by-case basis). We seek students wishing to undertake groundbreaking, detailed study of the Internet and Networks and its social, technological and economic impact.

Winter-Spring Doctoral Programme

Our annual Winter-Spring Doctoral Programme, to start in Easter 2010, will provide top doctoral students from around the world with the opportunity to work for a few intensive weeks with leading figures in Internet and Networks research. Students are given help and advice in conceptualising or advancing their dissertations through seminars and informal discussions with tutors and fellow students.

Events

The LINI's Events programme will present a wide variety of academic and/or policy-oriented lectures, seminars, forums and conferences, involving leading figures in academia and other sectors. The programme is intended to fulfil a variety of needs: to disseminate and help inform our own research, to inform policy and practice communities, and to stimulate wider public debate on a variety of issues.
